Seychelles, sea shells, seashore
There are places so beautiful they look so surreal in pictures. I believe THIS is one of them.
The Seychelles, Africa
Here’s what Islands Magazine has to say about this paradise, which is included in its Wish List 2011 issue:
“No surfers, no boaters, just the flitting flycatcher above and this shoulder of rock to lie on surrounded by sand so white it could be snow. The bird...

Seeing, looking
I memorized the world’s capitals when I was in high school. Anne of Green Gables and Harry Potter were second only to the atlas—my loot from my grandfather’s extensive bookshelf. The very first work of non-fiction that struck me, and which I have never forgotten, was a travel feature of Lake Como in Italy.
Deep in the recesses of my mind, I knew I wanted to see the world....

How to make a cake out of concrete
Bastardized corals, courtesy of - you guessed it - bastards. This is the Boracay West Cove, supposedly owned by a close friend of Pacquiao’s. We all know that’s true, right? Of course.

Surprises
Waking up for the sunrise is always a pain in the butt. When you’ve lived in Baguio for six years - including coerced 7-AM call times courtesy of second-semester Journalism classes - you’d know what I mean. While sunsets are always awe-inspiring and almost always romantic, sunrises are best experienced alone. This I learned from my recent trip to Malaysia, where, for three straight...
Of moving books a la Harry Potter
One of the things I love most about the iPad is the tons of free iPad-only magazines or books that, in contrast with plain PDFs, contain rich, rich multimedia content that are a feast to the senses (Travel+Leisure’s 500 Best Hotels issue, for instance, features a video clip of elephants making way for the opening of a temple gate, a very nice touch that PDFs unfortunately cannot deliver).

This is why I love Pete
There will always be people who rise way, way above the bunch.
I have always been raving about Pete Souza’s photojournalism, and I won’t tire of praising his work over and over again, especially in historic times as this.
News of Osama bin Laden’s death came; the video of President Obama addressing televisions around the world has aired; but it was Pete Souza’s photos...
The thing about weddings
is that you can live for moments like this.
or this.
Not-so-manic Monday
Mondays are not my best, mainly because I almost always have headaches which I owe to early-morning bus trips. This Monday was no exception, but these pick-me-ups—along with a capsule of pain reliever—somehow compensated for whatever discomfort I felt.

Ho Ho Ho, here comes the Ipad Two!
Lurking on Twitter and Facebook has its benefits, especially on late nights. Last night, as I was trying to fall asleep in front of the computer, PowerMac Center—the official Apple distributor in the Philippines—tweeted that the second generation iPad is coming to the Philippines in two days. That means tomorrow, April 29, 2011.
I guess Apple likes to keep its [potential] customers...
